calligraphic abstraction

When creating calligraphic abstraction, I capture my momentary energy and presence through a meditative state. The brushstrokes are dynamic, yet controlled, executed in a single focused moment. Instead of words, I create gesture, movement, emotion. The empty space around is just as important as the strokes themselves. Emptiness does not mean lack, but silence, peace, and openness.

abstract expressionism

When creating abstract expression, I like to work intuitively, guided by an inner impulse, emotion, or feeling rather than a predetermined plan. I let my hand dynamically, energetically layer intuitively selected colours. The process of painting itself alternates with periods of silence, observation, and contemplation of the further development of the painting. It is a kind of internal dialogue with the artwork itself. These moments of absolute silence and inactivity are no less important. With my abstract painting, I focus on the emotions of the viewer. Using layering of colours that mix, overlap, and permeate, I try to capture depth and movement. By using transparent colours, I create the impression of light and space.

expressive symbolism

Sometimes I incorporate the expression of my inner state into abstraction through expressive composition and symbolism. Most of the time it is a figurative concept of a woman caught in her vulnerability in her emotional state. The contrast of this vulnerability is the explosion of colours and light, which is a visual metaphor for inner strength, transformation and spiritual awakening. Sometimes I call these works of mine fantasy realism. I like to evoke the impression of magic or mysticism with my works.
