About the artist

Klára Langrová

Klára Langrová was born in 1982 in Kadaň. Already during her basic art education at the Klement Slavický Art School, she discovered her love for visual expression. During this period, she also presented herself to the public for the first time – she exhibited her works at the Josef Liesler Gallery.

She painted her first painting on canvas seventeen years ago. At that time, it was mainly about finding herself, which led her to her first solo exhibition in 2013. In her work, she moves on the border between abstract expressionism and expressive symbolism. For her, painting is primarily a process of inner concentration, through which she captures either the immediate energy of the present moment or processes longer-term themes that her mind repeatedly deals with.

In abstract painting, she works with a strong gesture and dynamic, yet consciously controlled brush or roller strokes. She emphasizes movement and emotion. She deliberately alternates expressive, energetic parts of the painting with places of peace, harmony and silence, so that the viewer has room to breathe and is not visually overwhelmed.

Symbolism or a figurative element enters some of the works. Most often, a female figure appears in a state of vulnerability and emotional openness, which contrasts with her inner strength. Here, the figure carries a specific story, inner mood or transformation process.

Through colors and shapes, Klára creates a space to pause and invites the viewer to a silent dialogue with herself. For her, a painting is not a ready-made answer or a clear-cut result, but an open field in which questions resonate and where answers are born individually, depending on the perception of each observer.

She also complements her paintings with original poems that capture what may remain hidden at first glance. Word and image thus become two levels of one message. She recites her poems in the form of so-called slam poetry, where she emphasizes recitation.

In recent years, Klára has been increasingly exhibiting in galleries not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. Her work has been presented, for example, in the Prague galleries Bid4Auction, ContempoRare, Ambit Gallery and Golden Cock Gallery, as well as in the Boomer Gallery in London. In Italy, she exhibited at the Scuola Grande San Teodoro in Venice and at the Palazzo Galleria Bellini in Florence. In 2025, her work reached the Middle East, where it was presented at the QIAF international fair in Qatar.

I am visual artist who explores the world of dreams and visions. Creating art is my way of connecting with my inner world and transforming them into works that invite the viewer to a silent dialogue. In each piece, I look for a moment that transcends the boundaries of the conscious mind and brings a touch of something deeper, something that cannot be expressed in words, only felt.
