"Sometimes I feel that we are left with imprints of places, people and stories that we have never experienced. As if our memory reaches much further than just our own lives.

A dream of an ancient civilization is an encounter with this vague feeling. Faces emerge from the layers of colors, perhaps just memories of them. Each of them seems to belong to a different time and yet they all exist at the same moment.

For me, a painting is an image of a world that once existed, disappeared and yet something remains of it. In gestures, in stone, in the landscape and in ourselves.

Maybe it is a dream. Maybe a memory. And maybe just an echo of something ancient that we still carry within us."
